About

Babils is a piece consisting of a prelude and a fugue. The name “babil” here evokes the continuous and joyful chatter of a small child or a bird. It is a piece that is both light and breathless, with few pauses, as if there were an impatient urge to keep the discourse going until the next idea emerges…

As soon as you are sprinkled,
At dawn, with dew,
You make a thousand speeches in the air,
In the air you flutter your wings,
And hanging in the air you chatter
And tell the winds your loves.
