• Les Sentinelles

  2024-2025

  Opera for three female singers, one actress, and orchestra

  Les Sentinelles is a contemporary opera in two acts, the result of a collaboration between composer Clara Olivares and librettist and stage director Chloé Lechat. Premiered on November 10, 2024 at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux, this work explores the complexities of human relationships through the lens of four female characters.

• The Cold Song Project

  Musical performance

  The Cold Song Project is a continuous 50-minute performance, the result of a collaboration between Clara Olivares (electronics) and Vanasay Khamphommala (performance), which questions our relationship to time—both the space in which all the experiences of our lives take place, and the process that inexorably brings us closer to our own end.

• International Academy for Young Women Composers

  2021-2023

  Co-supervision of the academy 2021-2023

  True to its commitment to young artists, the Orchestre de chambre de Paris launched an international academy in 2021 to support the emergence of young women composers. The 2021-2025 edition is supervised by Thomas Lacôte and Clara Olivares.

  Through working sessions with the composer and musicians of the Orchestre de chambre de Paris, students from a 7th grade class at Mozart Middle School are invited to discover the world of contemporary music.

• Mary

  2017

  Chamber opera for soprano, ensemble, puppets, and electronics

  Mary is a contemporary opera imagined by Clara Olivares, inspired by the life and work of Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein or the Modern Prometheus. This intimate musical biopic explores the major stages of her life, from birth to death, including her loves, losses, and hallucinations.

• La Pierre Chantante

  2015

  In situ musical performance

  Created for the inauguration of the Sentier des Cabanes Sonores in Metz in 2015, La Pierre Chantante is an improvised musical performance by Clara Olivares and percussionist Simon Pomarat, conceived around a pavilion imagined by Jean-François Frering and Klaus Stöber.
