La Supplique de mes Chants

About

La Supplique de mes Chants is a short piece written almost 10 years ago, at the beginning of my journey as a composer. The work on timbre, predominant in my pieces today, was already sketched out in the exploration of resonances. The title (La Supplique de mes Chants) is taken from the lyrics of Schubert’s lied Ständchen (“Through the night rises softly to you the supplication of my songs” is the beginning of the lied, in German), itself inspired by the poem Swan Song by Ludwig Rellstadt. The piece is of romantic inspiration, with several references to Schubert’s lied itself (intervals, harmonic fields, form).”
