“Ignis explores fire as a symbol of raw energy and perpetual transformation. The piece traces a sonic journey in which fire, in all its complexity, comes to life through shifting textures and intense dynamics. Soft and sparkling at times, the sound evolves in waves, mimicking the unpredictable advance of flames and embers, in a balance between strength and fragility. Inspired by Heraclitus' reflections on the cyclical nature of fire—creation and destruction—Ignis engages the performer in an act of concentration and control that channels this inner energy. More than a descriptive evocation, this work seeks to capture the essence of fire: its heat, its mystery, and the vital force it embodies. Time expands and each sound becomes an echo of the moving flame.”
