Ovum

2012
for percussionist (egg) and amplification

Duration: 3'30 minutes

About

“My piece Ovum explores the egg as both a sound object and a symbol. Amplified by microphones placed under the table, the slightest gestures (rolling, rubbing, blowing) seek to reveal the fragile and poetic material of the egg. Manipulated and then broken, it becomes the space for a transformation where sound is born, unfolds, and disappears. It is a piece that questions the origin, the fragility, and the metamorphosis of sound forms, from their simplest and rawest state.”
